Doctor Visit from Feb – “You’re too healthy”

Recollecting my initial doctors visit around the beginning of February which started my dislike for my doctor.

I was told by the surgeon’s office that I needed to see my GP before my consultation with the surgeon to kinda go over what my plans were and for him to give the initial medical “ok”.

Reluctantly I did, because I hate doctors. Before all this I had maybe been to a doctor twice in the last 10 years. This is a habit I plan to change, well…will -have- to change for this surgery. A habit among many.

Anyway the doctor was pretty hesitant and apprehensive about the idea of the surgery the whole time. I can sorta understand that, if I felt it was for the right reasons.

Example #1 – My knee pain, more recently the bruised tendon that I’m finally fully over.

Well about 90% of my patients deal with knee pain, that’s certainly not a reason to get the surgery done.

Well I didn’t say it’s the reason I am getting the surgery done, I was using it as an example as to the benefits of having the surgery. I don’t expect the knee pain to go away, I expect it will be loads better though without all the weight compacting it.

Example #2 – “Most of my patients that have had this type of surgery were on 8 or 9 medications before getting it done. You are fairly healthy.

Umm….well I don’t -want- to have to be on 8 or 9 medications before I get this done. I don’t want to wait until something is majorly wrong with me to get this done.

And wtf, HEALTHY? Sounds like you need a new prescription for those glasses, my friend.

Another visit where I think the doctor was more on the lines of “You’re in denial, you don’t know what you’re talking about, therefor I’m going to condescend you the entire visit out of spite.” And another reason why I’m firing him.
